Process of obtaining a residence card in Poznan

Document Collection

The list may vary depending on the basis for the residence permit, but typically includes:

  • Completed national visa application form (if applicable).
  • A passport and copies of its pages.
  • Four current 35x45 mm color photographs
  • Documents confirming the purpose of stay (e.g. work contract, certificate of study, etc.)
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of residence (lease agreement, meldunek).
  • Other documents as appropriate.

Please note that all documents in a foreign language must have a sworn translation into Polish.

Submitting an application

When the package of documents has been collected, you can proceed with the application. To do this, you need to:

  • Create a personal account on the website e-konsulat.gov.pl.
  • Choose a voivodeship and fill in the online application form. For Poznan it will be the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.
  • Make an appointment to apply at the Department for Foreigners of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship Office in Poznań.
  • Appear in person at the filing with originals and copies of all documents.
  • Take biometric data (fingerprints, digital photo).
  • Pay the application fee and the fee for the plastic card.

After the application is accepted, you will receive a confirmation of its registration with a case number. You can use this number to check your Poznan case status or perform a Poland TRC status check online for Poznan.

Timing and interview

The term for processing an application for a residence card is 60 days by law, but in practice it can take up to 3-4 months due to the workload of the authorities. During the processing period, a special visa is issued, which allows you to stay legally in Poland.

During the consideration of the application for permanent residence for holders of Polish roots, a foreigner is called for an interview. Here are some tips to help you pass it successfully:

  • Prepare for questions about the purpose of your stay and plans for the future, as well as questions about the history and customs of Poland.
  • Answer confidently and in a friendly manner, preferably in Polish. Remember that an employee is not your enemy, but a person doing his job.

I want to sincerely thank Latwy Start and especially Olga for the excellent work and support at every step.

Olga is a true professional and at the same time a very caring, attentive person. From the very start she guided me step by step: she helped me gather the documents and explained everything in detail, and then took on all the organizational matters and completely removed the stress that usually comes with such procedures.

I'm very happy to recommend her to anyone who values professionalism, reliability and a human touch. And I will absolutely turn to her again.

I got my permanent residence card (karta stałego pobytu) with the help of Latwy Start, based on my Polish roots. I didn't really look into it myself. They told me which documents were needed and where to go. Got it all done, and now the card is in my hands.

I want to leave a review about Latwy Start, and specifically about working with Olga. She is a true professional and a very pleasant person.

Olga helped me at every stage: from gathering the documents, where she constantly advised me and sent examples of how to fill them in so everything would be perfect, all the way to the visit to the urząd (office), where she went with me and completely took away the stress that comes with the procedure.

After I submitted the application, Olga kept me regularly updated on the status of my case and did everything she could to have it processed faster.

I'm incredibly happy with her work and will definitely turn to her again. Today I picked up my first card, valid for 3 years, and I know for sure - without Olga I wouldn't have managed!☺️

I'm giving 1 star. I was planning to start working with them through the incubator. I sent 3 messages - by email and through the form on the site, messaged them on Instagram, made 2 calls (no answer). I wasted a week waiting. They simply ignored me. How can you trust this service if the foundation can't even reply to a message and send documents to review. Waiting for an explanation.

FAQ

How long is a residence card issued for?

The maximum period of validity of the temporary residence card is 3 years, but not longer than the validity of the passport. A shorter period may be issued on the grounds of residence permit (e.g. for the duration of a work contract).

How far in advance can I start the process of getting a card?

It is better to apply for a residence card in Poznan at least 2-3 months before the end of your current visa/card. This will give you more time for the application to be processed and the card to be issued.

How do I renew my residence card?

Renewal is accomplished by submitting a new application no earlier than 90 days before the current card expires. The entire process is similar to the initial submission. It is important to keep track of the expiration date of the card and apply for renewal on time.
